Is Race Medicine Good Medicine?

A racially-targeted drug that reduces death from heart disease among African-Americans has stirred a controversy that questions the effectiveness of the drug. However, this race-based medicine has arrived in a society that has rather imprecise ideas on what race means. The larger question is, as reported in the press, does race exist?
